One Good Thing A Day – Project Day 54 – Sakura Season in Toronto
It’s hanami time in Japan and it’s sad that I’m away from Tokyo this year. Luckily, I’m close to High Park where the blossoms were blooming beautifully.
After a morning of writing and work, we decided to head out to enjoy them for our lunch break outdoors.
Our first encounter was my favorite bird with a lovely call:
We then followed the path to me this little guy:
By this point, we were very happy and excited to see so many animals -especially after so many years in Tokyo where the wildlife is seriously lacking.
We finally got to the sakura and my excitement filled the air. Certainly not as many trees as Japan but just as beautiful.
One thing we found funny was the majority of the people out snapping shots of the sakura were Asian (>_<)
Quite a few people but again, nothing compared to Japan.
Fun little trackless train that travels through the park. Very fun for the little ones.
We both thought this was fantastic:
After lunch, we sadly had to go back and get a lot of work done….. but before then, we came across a raccoon.
One Good Thing A Day – Project Day 53 – Strange Tokyo Restaurants
I just came across this article that made me think of Tokyo and how crazy it can be compared to Toronto:
I’ve been to the Lockup in Shibuya a couple of times and it’s certainly a place to visit at least once in your travels. It’s a kind of prison/medical/monster theme where the waitresses are dressed in nurse outfits
and guys dressed up as either prisoners or monsters run around the cave restaurant.
Each seating area is in a jail cell with bars and at random times, the main lights go out, strobe lights go on and all chaos begins as the monster/prisoners run around “terrorizing” the customers in the cells.
You can also order drinks that come in test tubes
It’s definitely a “huh?” moment the first time…. but then again…. most things in Tokyo make you say that.
One Good Thing A Day – Project Day 52 – Sorry for the Delay!
I apologize for the very long delay -I’ve failed to keep it up lately due to: 1) painfully slow internet
2) apartment hunting
3) job hunting
4) writing jobs
then followed by
5) moving into an apartment
6) hooking up internet
7) getting a new mobile phone (because sucky Japan has to lock their iPhones (>_<) boo.)
Well, now we have our office area set up again and I’m back *^_^*
Have a lot of writing to do……….but my new view and yummy snack are distracting me:
One Good Thing A Day – Project Day 51 – Hello Toronto, How I’ve Missed Thee
Finally left Tokyo and back to Toronto…. trying hard to get settled, but now we’re both sick, trying to work and apartment hunt -but we’re both happy to have fresh clean water, food and a place to stay that doesn’t sway every few minutes -yay!
One Good Thing A Day – Project Day 50 – Thank You All <3
It’s difficult to find good things these days, especially with motion sickness from being at home, food/housohold product shortages from hoarders and nuclear panic….. just to name a few.
I do have a loving person who is always with me to make me smile and comfort in stressful times and I would like to thank him along with my loved friends and family members who have sent heartfelt messages since the quake. They are all my source of positivity in low times.
