One Good Thing A Day – Project Day 39 – Bed at 5am

Had a late work night and finally decided to get to bed around 5am. Just before falling into a blissful sleep I saw a sliver of the moon and the rising sun -quite pretty.

Sadly the photo isn’t as pretty as I saw it, but at least I got to capture something *^_^*

One Good Thing A Day – Project Day 37 – Afternoon at the Museum

We decided to take a little time off to relax and stay away from our computers. Naturally, our chosen day off was chilly and rainy, so outdoor delights were not too appealling. Instead we decided to go to Tokyo’s National Museum of Western Art.

Before entering the museum, you can enjoy some of Auguste Rodin’s famous pieces like The Thinker and my favorite:

The Gates of Hell

We enjoyed a quiet afternoon looking at painting and enjoying the rare quiet inside the museum.

Claude Monet’s Water Lilies

and another favorite:

Paul Signac’s The Port of Saint-Tropez

It’s quite a large striking piece with a very lovely technique of pointillism. I love it because it has beautiful colour mixtures like Monet but with the added texture and precision that is Signac.
